Ontario's WeatherThe province lies on North America's major storm track with winter weather systems travelling through on an average every 3-5 days. Covering so much territory, daily temperatures may differ by as much as 20 degrees celsius. Winter season can begin in October and last through May. Hot and humid air is not uncommon in southern Ontario, with June, July and August at its peak. Thunderstorms frequently develop quickly and travel rapidly. The Great Lakes often affect intensity, duration and motion of weather systems.
